High complexity due to heterogeneous business areas on a shared system (consumer electronics, entertainment electronics, kitchen & bathroom, construction management, service). Integration into a complex system landscape with business-critical peripheral systems and processes. More than 150 branches in three language regions. Zero-error tolerance due to potential impact on the renowned specialty retail chain's brand. Cut-over and migration planning as well as execution across Switzerland covering all regions, business areas, and peripheral systems.
Concept & Methodology
Development of a comprehensive cut-over and migration concept across all business areas and systems. Risk reduction through distribution of cut-over activities. Early provision of production systems and advance testing of various technical components and interfaces. Planning and coordination of the implementation of more than 3,000 cut-over activities. Conducting cut-over and migration tests and implementing lessons learned into the planning. Go-live in two major waves. Definition of prerequisites and migration tests to ensure smooth cut-over. Alignment of data migration activities with the master plan and organization of data validation. Planning and coordination of testing to ensure flawless operation of the most important business processes at go-live. Resource planning and coordination for cut-over, go-live, and hypercare support for more than 120 people. Supporting change management in capturing and implementing resource and process changes across all business areas. Supporting training management in developing concepts and plans.
